Goodrich signs lean-burn agreement
| News category : Environment |
Goodrich Corporation has signed a research agreement with Rolls-Royce to develop the next generation of fuel nozzles for lean-burn combustion technology systems, which would be used on future gas-turbine aircraft engines.
Goodrich has also been selected to supply Rolls-Royce with the combustion system fuel nozzles for the new Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine programme for the Airbus A350XWB commercial aircraft. According to Goodrich lean-burn technology allows for more complete combustion cycle, which reduces emissions and increases efficiency. Lean-burn technology can significantly reduce nitogen oxide (NOx) emissions and improve local air quality around airports.
